wolfsburg talent, powered by a proven global model.

42 is a global network of tuition-free coding schools where you learn by building real projects and improving through peer feedback.

At 42 Wolfsburg you follow the same core curriculum used across the network: projects that ramp up in difficulty, continuous peer review, and teamwork baked into the process. The goal isn't to learn about code. It's to build the habits of an engineer, shipping work with other people under real constraints.

// system_faq

frequently asked questions.

01 do i need to know how to code to join?
Absolutely not. Beginners and experienced coders are equally welcome. There's no evidence that applicants who already code do better at the Piscine. You need to be 18 or older, curious, and ready to work hard.
02 what is the piscine exactly?
The Piscine is our four-week selection sprint, the final stage of the application. You'll solve challenges in C and shell, sit machine exams, and tackle group Rush projects at weekends. It tests logic, grit and how well you work with other people.
03 can i study remotely?
No. 42 Wolfsburg is an on-campus experience. Peer-to-peer learning only works properly in person. The Markthalle campus is open 24/7, so the hours are yours to choose.
04 do i need to speak german?
No. All content and projects are in English, and our community spans more than 40 nationalities. German helps with daily life in Wolfsburg, but it isn't a requirement to study here.
05 how is it actually free?
We're a non-profit, fully funded by industry partners including Volkswagen and other key players in Lower Saxony. They back us because they want the talent. Our graduates are never required to work for them. You cover your own cost of living, nothing else.
06 do i get a degree at the end?
We issue a certificate of completion rather than a state-accredited diploma. What carries weight is the portfolio of real projects you leave with, plus the reputation of the global 42 network among employers.
